Creating a Presentation with Visual Communication Principles

Visual design encompasses many topics such as focus, asymmetrical balance, proportion, and scale. To display each of these design techniques, I created a visual presentation of a fictitious menu for a coffee shop: Ollie's Coffee Shop.

I created my own graphics with Procreate, and used my own handwriting for the typography. In recent years, there has been very little time to practice drawing and sketching. This project gave me an opportunity to flex my creative muscle and paint digitally. For each menu drink, I digitally painted a dog. Real images were used as a reference for the digitally painted dogs. For instance, for a French press coffee, I digitally painted a French bulldog.
