Content Strategy: Rare Beauty
For my Content Strategy class, we got to analyze any company to create a new content strategy. I selected Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez. She sought to create a make-up line that breaks down unrealistic standards of beauty. She hopes that users feel comfortable wearing her makeup and are embracing their own uniqueness. Selena mentions on her site: “Rare Beauty is not about being someone else, but who you are.” On her site, users can shop for makeup, skincare products, and makeup tools and accessories.
Note: I am not finished with this project. The project will be completed at the end of this semester but I will be updating this post as I go along. This entire project is based on my individual work.
For my first assignment I created a quantitative content inventory.
My next assignment was to create a qualitative content audit, and a memo to Rare Beauty stakeholders describing the qualitative content audit.
My next assignment, I compared content management systems and proposed a new content management system for Rare Beauty in a memo. A content management system or CMS is essentially a software or hardware system that a content strategist will install to their website or mobile application to manage content.
