Valencia

We were only docked at the port of Valencia for a few hours, so we only had time for our excursion: Tour of Valencia and San José Caves. There wasn’t any traffic, so we had time to stop by the Art and Science Museum. I felt like I was walking into the set of a Star Wars movie. The architecture was so modern and symmetrical. While the bus driver drove around Valencia, our tour guide pointed out major sites. Then, we went into the market. My brother, Michael, and I tried horchata for the first time. It tasted like the milk that’s left over in your cereal bowl after you eat Froot Loops. Needless to say, we didn’t drink the whole cup. We went outside the market and bought warm freshly made churros. We got back on the bus and drove awhile to the San José Caves where we went through the world longest navigable underground river. It was very pretty and surreal. We had to duck our heads on several occasions. We were lucky enough to get into the boat first, so we were able to see the caves from the boat from the best angles. After the cave tour, we drove back to the boat which wrapped up our time in Valencia. I wish we were able to stay there longer. Most of the excursion was spent in the caves, I wish I could’ve explored the city longer and meet more locals.
